ENVIRONMENTAL
The Race to Zero
In 2022 we made a pledge to reduce our carbon footprint.
As a manufacturer we recognise our reliance on fossil fuels – 92% of AGA Rangemaster’s carbon footprint is embedded in our use of Gas, Electricity and Water. These elements are vital to our process and are extremely difficult to avoid.
We identified innovative ways of saving energy and reducing our carbon footprint including the following:
- The replacement of fluorescent lighting and high intensity lighting with LED lighting.
- Introduction of motion sensing lighting in areas of limited occupancy to ensure that we do not unnecessarily leave lights on when not required.
- We are working with our packaging suppliers to ensure that where possible we utilise innovative packaging solutions.
- The introduction of a re-use bag for the 7 Series Range.
- Installation of electric vehicle charging points across each site.
- Significant investment to switch to variable speed compressors that are only operational as and when there is a demand.
We continue to develop our initiatives with our teams and third parties as we stay committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
As a result of our efforts our year ending 2022 data has been externally verified and we have reduced our total co2e by 917.6 tonnes.
Our aim is to reduce our t co2e even further during 2023 as we continue in the Race to Zero emissions.
CHARITY
Supporting charities remains a huge part of our culture at AGA, we have regular fundraisers and we love to support local, nationwide and international charities.
Macmillan is a cause which is so close to all of our hearts for many reasons.
As part of our Macmillan Coffee Morning fundraising event, the AGA Technical Team completed a sponsored climb of the Wrekin in Telford with a difference by carrying an AGA to the top of the Wrekin. It was hard work but they did it! We raised £484.15
